Happy Boy!
Today was totally great. Ty was so happy!! He's feeling great, his infection is under control and they stopped injecting the antibiotic directly into his shunt (at least for now). Now we just need to wait and see to be sure the infection doesn't flare up in the absence of those injections. As long as the infected shunt is in place, he is at risk of the infection returning. But, we need to get through radiation first so we are keeping the shunt in place for now - one step at a time.
Just look at this smile... taken this morning while he was waiting for his super hero treatment.

I've been following your blog for the last few weeks and have to admit I've shed a few tears. I have an 8 month granddaughter and can't even imagine what it must be like for you. I've been saying a little prayer for Ty every night and was really happy to see that he's happy. I remember that's one of the things I always prayed for my kids. Let them be healthy and happy.

ReplyDeleteSo nice to see that beautiful smile. Keep fighting and beating up that cancer, Ty! We mention you in our prayers every night.
ReplyDeleteI just read the last few days in a row to catch up with Ty's progress and I'm so happy that he is getting "bedda" but so sad that he is still going thru the nonsense and grief that comes along with this horrible disease. I'm so glad you got to spend time with Gavin and his kind hearted nature is so beautiful! I feel horrible when I read that Ty isn't feeling well or that his infection is back and I just want to beat the cancer out of him. I can only imagine what you guys must be going thru. My niece Grace was born a day after Ty (the same year too) and I can't fathom what it would be like watching her press a button for pain medicine at 3 yrs old. I hate that Ty has to grow up so fast and go thru this pain, but I know in the end he will be a better man after all is said and done. And he will have you and ur husband to thank for remaining strong and confident! God Bless you all and know that the prayers are always coming! Hang in there.. Xoxoxo
ReplyDeleteCindy,
