Thank You! Ty would be so proud!
You can imagine the shock when I saw this incredible tribute to Ty and the TLC Foundation on the front page of The Journal News!
It is a wonderful article, and the video posted to lohud.com is perfect http://lohud.us/19NpAyQ. It really tells our story with a sense of kindness, compassion and familiarity. I am so grateful to Marcela and Seth. Marcela, for taking the time to truly understand the scope of what we are doing at the TLC Foundation and why we are doing it, and to Seth - who was with us back in September and so very compassionate - for pulling together a fitting video that shows how much he cares about all we have been through. The article was trending as the most popular story on the site all day!!
With only three days until the Mess Fest, my excitement (aka STRESS) has been through the roof!! I am just so happy that this is all coming together. I look around the office at all of the signs and the boxes and the TOYS and I can't believe it's actually happening. Everything I ever wanted to do for Ty is represented in this room. But I couldn't do it without the amazing volunteers who have been with us from the start. Ali and Donna, Melissa and Tonya - what can I say? This event is just HUGE and you have left no stone unturned in making sure it runs perfectly. Mishel and Dana - the time you dedicated leading up to this speaks volumes. Jen, Jessica, Lisa, Kate and Marystella, your sponsorship pursuits were incredible. Christina, Paula, Lauren, Laura and Tyrene - without your ideas, design skills, dedication and follow-through this never would have come together so successfully. And to the 80 volunteers who will be dedicating their time throughout the day - all I can say is "wow!" Thank you.
Last but not least, Karla and Ivan - for offering up Camp Kiwi - the greatest place on earth and a mecca for all things fun - and for working so hard to sure it all runs smoothly. I can't wait for all of you to see it.
Then there is this outrageous, mile-long list of incredible sponsors. Whose generosity is truly humbling, to say the least:

THIS LIST IS UNBELIEVABLE, ISN'T IT???? Thank you, thank you, thank you. All for you, Ty. This is going to be incredible. Before signing off, I want to share the last bit of news about the Mess Fest. A great friend and foundation member recently published a book that was written and illustrated by her and her children. It is probably the most beautiful story I have ever read. I hope you can pick up a copy at the Mess Fest :) The Adventures of SuperTy and Gavin tells the story of how SuperTy taught the entire world to be more appreciative and to find joy in the simple things in life. The real SuperTy certainly did just that, and this book is the greatest tribute.

I'm honored to be a part of an incredible Foundation and I gladly give my time to help you achieve your goals and to honor Ty's legacy. Your "best good boy" has taught me so much - I am forever grateful to have been introduced to him - I can honestly say he's one of the most influential people in my life because since I found out about SuperTy, the course of my life has changed dramatically. I am committed to helping children battling cancer - praying that I can help make a difference so that no more children suffer the way Ty did. Thank you Campbell's for letting me be a part of the Foundation. Thank you for all you're doing. Ty Louis Campbell - I will never forget you.

Cindy, I will be thinking of you, Lou and Gavin all day Saturday. I will be vacationing starting tomorrow and there was nothing I could do to change the week! It kills me that people say I wish I lived nearby because I live around the corner from beautiful Camp Kiwi! I hope you have a marvelous day, I know you will! I hope I can get one of those sweet books another day and hope get another opportunity to meet you all another day! Love you all, Angela from Carmel
ReplyDeleteI can't believe your Mess Fest is finally here! So excited for you, Cindy! I have a feeling Ty would not miss this for the world. I hope that you, Lou and Gavin feel him everywhere! I think he'll be sending all his love through every minute of that day. Oh, Ty will get such a kick out of all the mothers letting their kids get all muddy, and yucky and super happy.
ReplyDeleteI so wish my boys and I could be there making a big, muddy mess that Ty would be proud of too.
Much love & hugs,
Judy
This has been an incredible journey from the early days of discussion back over the winter to where we are today! I am so honored, humbled, and proud to be part of such an amazing event and organization! It is a real tribute to your beautiful son and I know he is smiling down on us and maybe laughing at all our discussions about napkins and ketchup! I CAN NOT WAIT!!!!

Such an amazing and wonderful tribute. I will continue to share yours and Ty's amazing story with everyone I meet.
ReplyDeleteI am so disappointed that we can't take our 23 month old to Mess Fest, but am certainly hoping to be there next year with both our little boys. The second due in just 7 weeks. Your story changed how we have raised our first son, and will certainly carry over to our second.
Will the book be available outside of the Mess Fest? I definitely want to purchase a copy!
Wishing you, your family and your team an amazing event with wonderful memories! I cannot wait to see the pictures.
Loving thoughts always,
Jen
So excited for Saturday! We've been recruiting other families to join us, saying it is going to be the Best. Playdate. Ever. :)
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to get a copy of the book for my boys!

All for SuperTy! He is in our hearts forever, Cindy. Hope the Mess Fest is a huge success!
ReplyDeleteI am still trying to figure out a way to travel 1000+ miles to bring my little buys to the Mess Fest. If we can't make it happen, I am planning a treat for my boys to have their own mess fest.
ReplyDeleteHow can I get a copy of the book in Idaho? I would love one for my children! So sad I can't make the Mess Fest this year but will be there in spirit!
ReplyDeleteThank you Cindy! You have changed my life immensely. By sharing Ty (who is just amazing beyond words & you can't help falling in love with) & sharing your journey, you opened my eyes to appreciate what is really important in life. I am honored to be a part of your foundation & will try and help in any way i can, I am in it for the long run! The TLC foundation will make difference in the fight against pediatric cancer i just know it & TY will be so proud of his mama this weekend & smiling down with his biggest brightest smile on the Mess Fest! Jessica xo
ReplyDeleteI watched the video last night. Not that having come to know you and your family through your blog has not already changed me, the video added another impact. Cindy, all of who Ty is so continues to impact. I will forever be sorry that Ty had to suffer and for the whole that his bodily absence has left for you and your family on this earth. After dropping my two little boys off at their school (we already started school and my 4 year old is in full time pre-school), the quiet that surrounded me was maddening. It brought me back to my 10 year struggle of trying to get them and I hated the quiet of my house. The quiet brought me back to those 10 years and it brought me just ever so slightly to what it must be like in your shoes. I am spreading the word to wear a gold ribbon in September.
ReplyDeleteCindy, Is it possible to order the book? I can't go to the mess fest because I live inanother state, but would love to read the book. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteI am so bummed that I can't go tomorrow. I hope your foundation continues to have many local events, because I only live on Long Island and would love to help. I wanted to run on the 27th as well, but had a family obligation. Hope you all have a blast tomorrow in Ty's honor. Will be thinking of you all day :)
ReplyDeleteI PREFER YOUR CURRENT ARTICLE DUE TO THE FACT IT IS QUITE GREAT FOR US.
