I love you more

Ty has been SO SWEET!  He told me "I wub you" about 100 times yesterday, and I'm not exagerrating.  He must be feeling a little vulnerable because he's been so mushy, and I am just loving every second of it.  What a gift yesterday was, and this morning too!  He just puts his arms out to hug me all day long, and I'm getting non-stop kisses.  Literally, hundreds of kisses.  Never in his life have I seen him so mushy.  It is the sweetest thing in the world.  He is smothering Lou, too, and even Gavin.  Every time he tells me he loves me, I answer "I love you more".  Sometimes he says "No, I wub YOU more," and I answer "I love you the most!"

He sat outside in a lounge chair for almost 1/2 hour yesterday, which was the most he has ever allowed me to be outside in the yard.  He is apprehensive about that because he is physically limited, but he is getting stronger and taking baby steps toward getting out more.  Lou and I also took him for a long walk in the stroller on Saturday.  He fought us tooth and nail, but once we convinced him it was really great for all of us to get out and for me to stretch my legs.  I otherwise live on this darn couch!

Yesterday one of my dearest friends since the 7th grade came to visit for the day.  Thank you NANCY!  She drove two hours from Massachussets and brought delicious lunch and dinner.  I can't tell you what a difference it makes to spend time with friends just talking away about every day things.  I know I mention this a lot, but sometimes I worry that people think it is rude to tell me about trivial things, when it is just the opposite.  I like to hear about everyone's normal, everyday life.  And to talk about funny things.

Today we have to get some bloodwork done locally, and Ty wants to "run errands" with me.  My mom and dad are coming to visit for a few days and I can't wait to see them (and take advantage of their help while they are here :)  Love to you all.

  1. Yea for a great day yesterday! Your first paragraph melted my heart! I am so glad Ty is feeling better and alittle more himself...I am sure the outside time did wonders for him.

Hope y'all have a great week and I am looking forward to more mushy, gushy posts! :)

  2. 'I Love You More' is a keepsake book written by Laura Duksta. My favorite lines in each side of the book (mother to son, son to mother) is 'know what son? I love you more...' 'know what mom? I love you more...'

    You are already there.

  10. Hi Cindy,
You don't know me, but I have been following your story for a few months now. I couldn't even tell you how I first found it....but anway....
I wanted to tell you something. Last summer, our 6 yr. old had an MRI to look for anything wrong because he was having severe headaches and they were making him vomit. We waited 6 days to find out that everything looked okay and that he is just getting migraines. I remember that day so well.....getting off the phone with our dr. and just crying in thankfulness. Then a thought came to me......there is a family that is not getting this news....there is a family who is finding out something terrible about their child.....and I began to pray for that child and that family, whoever they were. I read your story and just felt like it was Ty that I had been led to pray for....this child I never met and his parents I didn't know. So, just know that through all of this you are being held up in prayer by all your friends and family and also a host of people who you don't even know about.

I also want to share a song with you. It's by one of my favorite Christian artists and it's about healing. I thought you would like it.

  12. I'm not sure how I stumbled upon your blog a few months ago. (I think I was just clicking through friend of a friend of a friend's links!) Regardless, as a mother of 3 young children, your super sweet babies and Ty's story, instantly touched my heart. Checking your site is now the first thing I do every morning when I get to work and praying for your family is something I do every night. Blessings, best wishes, positive thoughts and more, from Central Kansas.
