Introducing #poopcrumbs

"Ewww.  Did someone make a poop in this bathroom?"
"I don't know, Gavin - you tell me?  You were the last one to use that bathroom."
"Hmm.  I don't wee-member.  But I fink so because I see a couple of poop crumbs left."

Never, have I ever heard anyone use the term poop crumbs.  I find it so amusing, so much so that - you saw it here first - I went ahead and prefaced it with a hashtag.  This one is right up there with Ty calling Hannford's "HeineyFarts."  Kids are just so funny!  When did my baby become a "kid" anyway?  Where did my baby go?

I guess I first realized he was growing up when he announced "My butt has to tell you something," before farting.  Ahh, the joys of motherhood.  Boys will be boys :)  I swear, I promise, I really don't know where he gets this from and NO I don't condone it - although sometimes I do have to hide my chuckle in response to his ridiculous potty humor.

Gavin has had a speech impediment for soo long, he didn't always talk so much!  We are just starting to learn and appreciate all that has been going on in that head of his all this time.  He can finally tell us, and we've decided that he's a complete nut.  A loveable, goofy, funny little nutjob. Crazy like his mommy :)

Yesterday he told me that when he's five, he is going to stop calling me mommy and just call me mom.  I was so amused, but also a little hurt.  When I asked him why, he told me it's because big boys don't call their moms "Mommy."

"Yes, yes, they do!"  I lied.  "Big boys still say Mommy?"  I was desperate. Borderline whining.
"No they don't!" he insisted.  "Because all nine-year olds call their Mommy's Mom."

And, there you have it.  Soon I won't be a Mommy anymore.  Kicking and screaming, I will be graduating to Mom status.  I say, to hell with Mom status!  He will always be my baby and I will always prefer "Mommy"!

#poopcrumbs :) #wheredidthetimego

I hope he never stops wanting to give me a kiss goodnight.  I cherish this edible moment right here :)

  7. <3 Just as your heart will ache when you think of the day when you won't be "mommy" the day you are called "mom" by a man- child, taller than you, and so handsome your heart will burst with the same love along with pride. It is different but I can tell you it is every bit as wonderful! ( and yes they still need you!)

    1. that is so true. :) It's also a proud day when your "man child" does something to take care of his mom. I was reminiscing on that very thing yesterday. My son was driving me to my car with a flat tire, he had to slam on the brakes, and his arm flew out in front of me in the passenger seat. I remember doing that very thing when he was little. We are always mommy, even when they call us mom.

  8. lol they are too funny, and excellent at breaking our hearts.. my Ava(8) told me the other day that she's ready to take her tinkerbelle decals off her wall. I said ok, but you KNOW it makes mommies sad when our babies start being big kids, right? to which she replied " don't worry,I still like puppies!" LOL the mouths of babes...

  10. It's not just boys. My daughter is 13 and her and her friends fart all over the place! Drive me insane! She always says so what, everyone farts. But I told her one, she will for get who she is with and let it rip and be completely mortified!!! Good luck, it only gets better!

    1. oh man, my daughter is 10, soon to be 11 and farts non-stop. I've raised my two kids (boy who is 5 1/2) that they can fart and burp at home all they want, just don't go around doing it in public. So far, so good. Even for the 5 1/2 year old. :) I think they are both full of gas constantly....and most times, theirs are way worse than an adults. ha ha!

  13. Haha! Funny little guy:) if it makes you feel any better, my very mature 6'1 175lb 15 yo still calls me mommy ( when his friends aren't around) always always kisses me goodbye/goodnight ( even when his friends are around) and still wants me or his dad to tuck him into bed every night :) so there is still hope for the 'mommy' and the kisses! Gavin is so super cute:)

  18. posted my comment before but for some reason it didn't save. I was laughing the entire time because my 5 year old boy is also very funny when it comes to his poop. he calls it airplanes coming out. i think Gavin is a complete clown. But wow he is definitely a heartbraker for future ladies. Ty would be very proud of his funny baby Gaga.
You are the best baby making mama ever Cindy!

  20. Kids are so hilarious. A friend of mine has a son who, when he was four, blamed his farts on barking spiders. Since then, any time someone farts, I instantly think of him. My son also has a fascination with the term "Dingle berries" and I can't help but laugh every time he asks me if he "has any berries left" when he showers. He's six now and as gross as it is, I love those moments. Although, if he's asking the same question in ten years we might have a problem lol. Thinking of you, lou, gavin, and ty as always!
